P1/MDM - Customer Advisory Board (CAB)

Purpose

Check Point is very interested in hearing what their customer's needs are with regard to P1/MDM, unified/centralized management. Check Point has put centralized management on the back burner for a number of years because of resource constraints caused by the building of all their new blades. Now the management aspect is gaining speed again, and Check Point wants to do it right.

You can help!

The Win:

By participating in this group you will have influence on the new MDM design - above and beyond submitting RFEs (Request For Enhancements). RFE's have minimal impact when submitted by a single person, but when a group of large enterprise accounts speaks in a single voice through a CAB, the game changes. Strength in numbers.

As a participant you will also have access to CheckPoint internal personnel on a limited basis (they are obviously very busy).  However, you will be able to see what is going on behind the scenes, and tune your business appropriately.

Check Point wins, because they only have to talk to ONE Point Of Contact and not X separate customers. In addition we can help Check Point prioritize their work based on market needs.

Check Point also wins because they also have questions for the group. Such as, "Are you using IPSO now? Will you be moving off it?" They can interact with ONE Point of Contact, not each customer.

The Content:

We will construct a vision of what MDM/P1 should look like in 3...5..10 years. HOW? We will build a list of enhancements that all of us have in the back of our minds, and prioritize them accordingly. We will work with Check Point to see if our vision merges with their vision.

Example: Check Point has a 3D vision of Policy, People and Technology. How would we want our MDM dashboard to support this vision?

The Format:

Midpoint will mentor a LinkedIn group discussion that is invite only. Midpoint will gather everyone's input, format it, put it up for discussion, and mentor the discussion.

Midpoint will host periodic Skype/Telecom conferences to discuss final proposals.

Midpoint will schedule time with Check Point MDM product managers

Rules:

  1. Midpoint will moderate the group.
  2. The group is by invite only.
  3. This is a two way discussion. You HAVE to contribute in order to continue to participate or Midpoint will replace you with members that are interested in contributing.
  4. If Check Point has surveys you are expected to answer. Everyone wins when people are sharing information.
  5. All information shared in the discussion group is confidential to the group. If you learn about another members internal proprietary information, you will keep it within the context of the group. If you do not, you will be banned, and if the violation is serious, you may be charged with violating your Check Point NDA.
  6. This is a forum for strategic planning. This is NOT a forum for resolving your personal outstanding help desk ticket, or for correcting MDM formatting errors.
